The Assyrians began the assaults against Israel that eventually led to the downfall of that northern Jewish kingdom. Israel's rulers continued to be labeled as evil while Judah's rulers were more righteous.

- One of the former promises that God made to the kingdom of Israel was fulfilled in this chapter. He promised that Jehu's dynasty would last until the 4th generation and they did.
Does this chapter teach anything about Jesus?
- Azariah/Uzziah was a prince that inherited his father, Amaziah's kingdom and the throne of David. He did the right things that his father wanted done. Jesus was likewise a righteous prince and son.
