There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
Does God issue any commands?
- God commands the house of Jacob to listen to his message of chastening, those who make mention of God but do not worship Him in truth or righteousness.
- God commands the children of Jacob to assemble themselves and tell Him who it is that makes all things happen.
Does God make any promises?
- For His own name's sake, God promised to defer His anger and not totally consume them even though He would put them through the refining fire.
Does this chapter teach anything about Jesus?
- Jesus is the LORD of hosts.
- Jesus is the first and the last.
- Jesus set the foundations of the earth and spanned the heavens at creation.
- Jesus is the redeemer, the Holy One that teaches people how to profit and leads them in the way they should go.
- The wicked have no peace because they do not know Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Does this chapter teach anything about yet-future events?
- The children of Israel ignored the prophecies that God had given them from their beginning claiming that the things that came true just as God said they would could be explained by natural phenomenon or because their idols caused the results. The same could be said about future prophecies. People explain them away or attribute them to false gods. One day all will be revealed.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
