TAKE TIME: Reading Assignment for July 8-13, 2013

Introduction: The Children of Israel were encamped upon the plain of Moab and Moses had very little time left with them to impart all the information they needed for living Godly lives. The passages in this week's reading are a few of the covenant conditions they needed to know and obey.

Reading Assignment:
  • Monday - Deuteronomy chapter 5
  • Tuesday - Deuteronomy chapter 6
  • Wednesday - Deuteronomy chapter 7
  • Thursday - Deuteronomy chapter 8
  • Friday - Deuteronomy chapter 9
  • Saturday - Deuteronomy chapter 10

Memory Verse

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all they soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I comand thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto they children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thous walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  Deuteronomy 6:4-7

Prayer Journal (ACTS)
  • Adoration - This week take time each day to praise God for the covenant He made with those who love Christ.
  • Confession - Repent of times you did not want to tell others about Him and His salvation offered through Jesus Christ.
  • Thanksgiving - Thank God that someone passed the good news (the Gospel) down to you!
  • Supplication - What are your prayer requests this week? List them for future reference so that you can see how God answers.

Search the Scriptures

Look for references for each of the following:
  • Promises that God made and to whom He made them. Do they apply to you?
  • References that either refer to or infer something about future events.
  • What does this passage teach about Jesus?
  • Commandments that God made and to whom He made them. Do they apply to you?

Putting the Word into Action
One concern of Moses was that the Children of Israel teach their children about God's covenant. Passing the message of grace is what missionary work is all about! By the way, YOU are a missionary so find someone to tell about God's covenant of grace offered freely to all who will repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
