Note: This genealogy was corrected on 11/19/2014 when I realized I had the descendants of Hur incorrectly enumerated.
Once again we encounter a genealogical list, but this one begins with Israel, the son of Isaac, who is found on Generation #22 on Monday's outline. Since the chapter itself starts with Israel our outline will begin there also.
Again, there are no answers in this chapter to the usual 4 questions, except that this chapter centers on the family of Judah, the tribe through whom Jesus Christ descended. His lineage is shown in red. David the king is named in verse 15. It is through this kingly line that Jesus will one day rule upon the throne of Israel.
Notice that I have made a few notes for certain individuals. As a journal I figure that if a note helps me perhaps it will help you as well. Also, I added a female child's name in italics under Amminadab even though she is not listed in this passage. Check the reference in Exodus for verification.
This chapter did pose a few problems, but by comparing it with other scriptures I feel that it is an accurate family tree. I used the same methods for determining individuals in this genealogy as I do when researching my own family tree. That doesn't make my family tree absolutely perfect any more than I can guarantee that I have everything correct in this outline but it does mean that it is reasonable and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
I hope these outlines of the genealogies are helpful to you. If so, feel free to leave me a comment saying so. We all need encouragement once in awhile. :)
