This Explains A Lot

I decided to try the audio test that Karen mentioned at her blog. As soon as I clicked on the "play" button the Bear, who was sitting at the computer next to me said, "WHAT IS THAT?"

Obviously this is his result:

And this is mine:

We really aren't on the same wavelength. But then, I'm not sure I needed any audio test to tell me that. :)

  1. Ooh! I've heard of this. Now I'll have to try it--and have my teenagers try it, too. Thank you!

  3. You're not pulling my leg are you? Couldn't hear a thing, but will try it on my grands when they visit.

  4. What I heard, above the "mosquito" type noise was a "tone" like some of the tones used in the hearing tests I used to have to take at the plant I worked at in WV. It would be annoying if you had to listen to it very long.

  5. OMGosh- I hear it - I'm 33 (for 10 more days lol)! And it's quite awful. Husband could not though - he's 36 next month. Worked like a charm on the kids though...

What a fun test, thank you for posting it :)

  6. We were talking about this in a Music Appreciation class I took last Spring. This frequency of noise has been tested in some malls to see if it keeps teenagers from loitering. If only they would put this into action at our local mall...

  7. Oh my word! That's so weird that you can't hear that! It's really annoying...my sister was like "OW! What is that Abigail?!" :D I'll have to test that on the rest of my family.

I'm having a contest on my blog over the next week. I'm renaming my blog, so I'm giving away a prize to the person with the best idea. Stop by and give me some suggestions when you get a chance! :)

    Have a wonderful day!
